I am hosting a baby shower in three and a half weeks for my friend. She wants a barbeque, with men, women, and children invited. There are 28 guests, and the baby’s a girl. Guests range in age from 1 year to the mom-to-be’s grandma. I need some short, interesting games to play at the shower that will involve everyone, hold their attention, and not take forever. Any ideas?

I threw a baby shower for someone who was a pro at games so I searched for ones she hadn’t done yet. The one she did do but is fun with men is guess the candy bar. You take a small piece of a candy bars and smash it inside a newborn diaper. number them and keep a master list so you don’t forget. The one with the most right wins. We also did a race on how fast someone could hang baby clothes (or doll clothes) with clothes pins on a string in less than a minute while holding a baby (a doll) and talking on a phone. Also, we did who could chug a bottle the fasts. Make the hole a little bigger and use 4 oz bottles. We did a few rounds and had the winner of each round face off to find a winner.
we also did a contest of who could draw the best picture of what the baby will look like. We used paper plates and crayons. The catch is they have to do it on their heads in less than 2 minutes and the mom to be picks the best one.
i saw on tv for a shower game they had everybody pick a length of toilet tissue to estimate how big they thought the stomach of the mom was. the closest got a prize and the most off had to wear a balloon in their shirts for the duration of all the games.
You get a large baby doll and have the guest pair up…they stand together with their arms around each other’s backs where one will be the "right" hand and the other person is the "left" Lay the doll on a table and time how long it takes them to "diaper the baby" This is done with old fashion cloth diapers and diaper pins Fastest team wins prize Another is to take the little plastic babies that you can get for cake tops and freeze them in indiviual ice cubes…give the guest a drink with ice and one of these and the first one to have their baby melt free of the ice cube yells "my water just broke" they win the prize (they are not allowed to put this piece of ice in their mouths) also you would want to make sure no young ones would participate in this one because of possible choking Have fun
Put balloons under the mens t-shirts and have them see who can tie their shoes first (so they can see what its like to be pregnant)
I remember from my baby shower six years ago they saved the ribbons and bows and them into a hat using a paper plate and ribbon and made me wear at the party. I still have it and my daughter has worn it for fun. You could get two girl baby dolls, diapers, and have a race to see who could dress the dolls the fastest and have prizes. I am sure you can go to Party City or some party store or at Walmart and they would have baby shower games and the decorations. It sounds like a lot of to me. Congratulations and Best Wishes! A Joyous Occasion!
