We are planning my baby shower and are thinking of not doing any baby shower games. Were going to have a big dinner with drinks instead. I know a lot of people HATE doing those stupid games (myself included). What are your thoughts?

This is a party in honor of YOU and the baby you are bringing into this world. If it makes you happy, then that should be all that matters. I hope you have a great time!

It's fine! Whatever you want should be best. It does seem a little boring!

It's up to you! If you hate them, don't do 'em. I personally like the "cocktails and mocktails" baby shower. I did that for my friend a couple months ago. The guests loved it, and so did the mom to be!

if there are going to be kids there too you might want to have a game for them so they can be occupied while the adults do the dinner thing…it's up to you though!! good luck!!

The shower you are planning sounds great to me! I would look forward to it. As it is, I dread going to showers and playing the dorky games. I know it's supposed to be a bit of goofy fun, but I don't like it :0)

I am not crazy at all for baby shower games either! This is your day, so make it the way you want to. A big dinner with drinks sounds great! Lark 84's cocktail and mocktail idea sounds good too!

The dinner is a great idea. I have always hated those silly games. I requested that games not be done at my showers and we all had a good time without them.

Hi! I just hosted a baby shower with the strict rule that no games were permitted. But I felt that we needed something because most of the guests didn't know each other. So I found a great non-traditional game that even the mom-to-be had fun with. It's a scratch-n-sniff game found at Games and Celebrations.com. The game was quick and funny to watch! You get a card with a picture of a baby in a diaper. The diaper is the scratch-n-sniff part and the winner is the one who gets the dirty diaper smell. There was a lot of relieved guests and one horrified winner. I think that if we would have done the baby word scramble that we've all done 100 times, I would have been in serious trouble!!!
